The Aspiration for Legal Unity as a Constant Value of Europe: Broad Outlines of an Idea
摘要
The Chapter aims to illustrate, from a historical-legal perspective, how the aspiration for legal unity has been a constant value in the European experience since the medieval centuries, despite the coexistence of multiple legal systems. It also examines how contemporary efforts to harmonize law within the European Union are ultimately in line with this long-standing pattern.
