FIRST LEGO League: Building Democratic Learning Communities Through STEM
摘要
This chapter examines how the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) program can serve as a democratic learning environment that integrates STEM education with inclusive participation. Beyond technical skills in robotics and programming, FLL fosters collaborative problem-solving, agency, and literacy development across diverse global contexts. The program's structure includes robot design, an innovation project, and core values. It creates spaces where technology serves as a democratizing force, valuing multiple perspectives and cultural knowledge. Through its emphasis on gracious professionalism and widespread engagement, FLL demonstrates how educational robotics supports equitable technological innovation and promotes social progress.
