Attitudinal/Belief Dimension of Learning and Education
摘要
Lifelong learning, as a dynamic, multifaceted process, is greatly shaped by the learner’s internal landscape: their attitudes, beliefs, and self-perceptions. This “Attitudinal/Belief Dimension” forms a crucial bedrock upon which successful and meaningful learning experiences are built. Neglecting this dimension risks fostering passive recipients of information rather than proactive, engaged, and resilient learners capable of navigating the complexities of a perpetually changing world. This chapter will explore the key components of the attitudinal and belief dimension, including Epistemological Beliefs, Attributions, Locus of Control, Self-Efficacy, Mindset, Meta-Lay Theories, Positive Orientation, and Self-Fulfillment, highlighting their significance in fostering a robust and fulfilling lifelong learning journey.
