Financial crime is an important debated topic globally due to its serious consequences for the economic and financial environment. Financial fraud is one of the most prevalent types of economic crime in today's society, resulting in substantial financial losses for the entire economy. This research aims to present trends and challenges in preventing financial fraud and also to highlight the impact of financial fraud prevention in the context of digitalisation and the accelerated development of artificial intelligence. In this study bibliometric and exploratory analysis were used to achieve this goal. Data from the Web of Science database were used in order to conduct this research, and the research results were obtained by using Biliometrix and CiteSpace software. For the analysed period 2020–2024, the research findings indicate that fraud prevention remains a pressing issue requiring prompt and effective solutions.
