Bibliometric Analysis of Financial Corruption in the Healthcare System
摘要
The paper focuses on interest in articles published on the topic of corruption in healthcare. To identify interest and make the connection between corruption and the medical field, we used bibliometric analysis. To identify the differences and similarities between the concept of corruption and corruption in general terms, two samples were analyzed for the period 2017–2024: one of 14,175 representing articles related to corruption in general and one of 2,736 representing articles related to corruption in the healthcare system. To develop the concept of corruption in the healthcare system, a sample of 1,690 articles published between 2000 and 2024, which included keywords relevant to the topic, was analyzed bibliometrically and systematically. Following these analyses, the research hypotheses were confirmed, as corruption had some effects on the healthcare system during the period analysed, and there were fluctuations in its increase and decrease. Having reviewed the literature and analyzed the bibliometrics, we can conclude that corruption persists in the healthcare system and that interest has increased during the pandemic. In addition, there has been a decline in interest in publishing articles related to corruption in the healthcare system. This decline was observed after the pandemic. The literature frequently mentions that combining the integrity of accountants with digitized and transparent governance combats corruption because it ensures that citizens have access to real and up-to-date information about the healthcare system.
