Design of a Modular Alumni Management System with Real-Time Mentorship and Engagement Features
摘要
This paper presents the iterative design and enhancement of a modular Alumni Management System to foster stronger engagement between institutions and their alumni. The system initially included 12 essential modules such as user registration, posts, job boards, events, and messaging. Through a feedback-driven development cycle, the platform evolved into a community-focused application featuring real-time chat via WebSockets, a mentorship request system, a doubt resolution forum, a centralized resource hub, and an alumni storytelling module. Developed using the MERN stack, the platform emphasizes secure, role-based access and scalable interaction. Comparative analysis with platforms like AlmaConnect, Graduway, and Vaave highlights the proposed system’s unique integration of interactive features tailored for academic communities. Our work addresses key challenges including alumni retention, structured mentorship, and data privacy through a modern, extensible architecture.
