Marine and coastal ecosystems provide many services and benefits to humans. In this sense, studying the interaction between humans and the marine environment is crucial to ensure humans’ sustainable use and development of marine resources. Analyzing the interaction between each sector of the blue economy and human activities and behavior made it evident that humans and the environment are undissociable components. Indeed, the degradation of such fragile ecosystems’ environmental quality, directly and indirectly, affects human well-being mainly by causing resource quality and quantity depletion, accelerating climate change effects, which in turn has heavy impacts on the socioeconomic sectors. Therefore, the present chapter directly calls for the implication of all the societal components in the mission of marine environment restoration, protection, and conservation.

摘要
