Oceans should be viewed as intricate networks of sites, landscapes, and narratives that encompass diverse players and perspectives, focusing on not only trade, leisure, and energy but also subsistence, regional development, and belief systems. Consequently, the remnants of activities in the oceans—or underwater cultural heritage—encompass tangible and intangible cultural heritage, human remains, practices, and oral histories. This chapter will explore how and why the consideration of underwater cultural heritage is a pivotal component in achieving a sustainable blue economy model. Additionally, the chapter will introduce the concept of regenerative tourism as applied to the oceans. This work aspires to influence the utilization of the oceans as not merely a sustainable resource but also a revitalizing force for both communities and the oceans themselves.
