Smart Materials, Nanotechnology, and Artificial Intelligence in Precision Medicine: An Industry 6.0 Perspective
摘要
Precision medicine is changing the present condition of healthcare by transforming the usual treatment approaches based on the conventional approach of personalized treatment, disease prevention, and diagnosis utilizing the conventional and population-based approach. This chapter looks at the ways Industry 6.0 concepts can be matched with precision medicine with special emphasis on the synergistic potential of smart materials, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence (AI) to drive adaptive, sustainable and human-centered healthcare systems. Industry 6.0 is not only a system of automation and digitalization, but it also implies bio-cyber system integration, ethical intelligence, and sustainability across the healthcare value chain. Smart materials provide responsive and biodegradable implants, drug delivery and tissue engineering; nanotechnology can provide systems to molecular scale targeting, diagnostics and enhancement of implant functionality; AI can be used as the cognitive engine to synthesize heterogeneous biomedical information, predictive diagnostics, customized therapy and optimization of manufacturing and lifecycle operations. The matter of sustainability, ethical as well as regulatory implications of responsible innovation is also addressed in this chapter, the concept of lifecycle-based governance, transparency and equal access are necessities. Finally, the matter of future directions and challenges is addressed including standardization, scalability, bio-hybrid systems, autonomous therapeutics, and closed-loop healthcare manufacturing ecosystems. In general, this work proposes Industry 6.0-enabled precision medicine as one of the means of developing a resilient, ethical, and sustainable healthcare with an immense effect on society.
