Equity and integrity in education are essential to achieving SDG 4. This goal aims to provide quality, inclusive, equitable education that promotes lifelong learning for all. Exams have long been a crucial component of education, as they enable the assessment of students’ knowledge and skills. However, cheating compromises both equity in education and the reliability of assessments. This article proposes the use of an intelligent vision-based system to ensure quality and equity in education, promoting integrity and trust through secure exams. The system uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to systematically detect unauthorized devices, such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops, during exams. This innovative solution enables the design of credible digital assessments, where every student has an equal opportunity, under fair conditions, to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. By utilizing this research to promote respect for academic principles and equal access to reliable assessments, we can significantly contribute to the development of a sustainable, ethical, and quality-focused digital education system.
