Integrating Counselling Psychology into Smart Learning Environments: A New Approach to Supporting Troubled Adolescents
摘要
This study explores the integration of positive psychology principles into smart learning environments as a novel approach to supporting troubled adolescents and reducing school bullying. This study presents an evaluation of the impact of a digitally enhanced psychoeducational counselling programme based on positive psychology in reducing bullying behaviour among lower secondary school students. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests, involving two groups, an experimental group and a control group. The sample consisted of 224 adolescents (112 in the experimental group and 112 in the control group), aged 12 to 14, using a school bullying scale. The experimental group benefited from a positive psychological counselling programme comprising 12 sessions on a multimodal learning platform, both face-to-face and interactive digital. Conducted during the 2024–2025 school year in secondary schools in Settat, Morocco, the study revealed significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores, with better results for the post-test, as well as between the subject and control groups. Follow-up monitoring showed that the effects were sustained, with differences leading to a type of responsiveness that was more observed in female participants, depending on gender. These results highlight the effectiveness of incorporating positive psychological support into smart learning environments as a sustainable and technological strategy to promote emotional well-being and reduce bullying in schools.
