Smart Web-Based Lighting Monitoring and Control System for Educational Buildings: Energy Saving Assessment Through Microcontroller and Sensor Integration
摘要
This paper presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of an intelligent web-based lighting monitoring and control system aimed at reducing energy consumption in educational buildings. The proposed system integrates current and illuminance sensors with an Arduino microcontroller connected to a dynamic web platform, enabling remote control and real-time data visualization. A case study conducted at the Faculty of Systems, Electronics, and Industrial Engineering demonstrated a 78.76% reduction in annual energy consumption and an estimated cost saving of USD 124.71. The results validate the system’s potential for sustainable energy management and its applicability in large-scale institutional environments.
