Taking into account teachers’ needs, expectations, and professional development, a teacher-focused perspective for the adoption of artificial intelligence in teaching practices is explored according to this document. Thus, it attempts to help a central figure in the process of instruction—teachers as knowledge mediators—how AI can be used to do teaching. As well as what higher education teachers perceive of AI, the barriers to the development of skills required to utilise AI in teaching are revealed.
