Redefining Recruitment: The Role of Generic AI in Shaping the IT Hiring Landscape
摘要
The growing use of Generic Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming recruitment and staffing processes in the Information Technology (IT) industry. AI tools such as automated resume screening, chatbot-based interview scheduling, and predictive candidate matching are now being widely adopted to improve speed, reduce hiring costs, and support data-driven decisions (Black & van Esch, 2020; Upadhyay & Khandelwal, 2018). These tools also aim to reduce human bias in hiring decisions (Rai & Tang, 2020). However, the increasing dependence on AI raises serious concerns about fairness, transparency, privacy, and the ethical use of data (Raghavan et al., 2020; Ajunwa, 2020). This paper inspects the impact of Generic Artificial Intelligence on IT recruitment in Western Maharashtra, specifically its influence on HR roles, candidate experience, and organizational diversity. Used a stratified purposive sampling method. This paper employed a mixed-methods and an explanatory sequential design. Researchers observed recruiter-AI interactions and candidate interactions with chatbots. Here, high-tech, large firms are considered for the survey. It highlights the need for ethical implementation of AI systems that promote inclusion and ensure that AI complements, rather than replaces, human decision-making. The findings provide valuable insights for IT companies and HR professionals to adopt AI responsibly, while maintaining fairness and trust in the hiring process (Chamorro-Premuzic et al., 2019; Leicht-Deobald et al., 2019)..
