Smart Hybrid Energy Meter aims to automate the tracking of the electricity usage data from home appliances/systems through the network along with power monitoring, power theft detection and real time pricing. This will lead to substantial reduction in the manual work involved in the collection of data pertaining to electricity consumption by each house, leading to reduction in the physical work and human errors. The necessary data can be accessed over automated network. The key elements of this system are energy meter circuitry, current transformers and optocouplers comparator circuit interfaced to a microcontroller board. The Wi-Fi module is used to transmit data wirelessly to the server and the data pertaining to power consumption are stored in the database. Administrator can generate the electricity bill based on data available in the database automatically and can use web pages to hast the data. This will help consumers to check and pay bill via online platform. Some of the key features of this model are energy monitoring, power theft detection, real time pricing etc.
