Visiting a college campus is crucial student decision making process, but it is not always possible as physical tours are not always feasible due to distance, scheduling, or accessibility barriers. While universities have tried to bridge this gap with online virtual tours, most of them are photo galleries or pre-recorded videos which are not interactive and fails to answer the question from a student or a parent perspective. This lack of engagement creates a disconnect, leaving users with an incomplete picture of the campus environment and culture. The rise of immersive solutions such as Virtual Reality offers an adequate solution to the problem. VR would transport the user into a three-dimensional space that provides a sense of presence beyond what flat media can deliver, but however a simple 3D model isn’t enough. An empty virtual world can feel just as lifeless as a photo gallery so to overcome this limitation, we propose MetaCampus, an immersive VR walkthrough enhanced with a narrative-driven AI virtual assistant. We recreated the environment of our college campus virtually where we have incorporated real time interaction through AI driven avatar which can answer queries which were predefined in the knowledge bank of the convai. To make it more interactive we added additional elements like virtual chalkboards to add realism to the experience.
