Gesture-Controlled and Object-Detecting Car is a new mobility solution for enhancing autonomy for physically disabled users using intuitive hand gesture control. The system, using an MPU6050 accelerometer and gyroscope module integrated within a gesture-sensing glove, detects hand gestures to instruct a robotic car to move forward, reverse, left, or right. An ESP32 microcontroller interprets the gestures and wirelessly transmits them via Wi-Fi, removing physical interfaces. Safety is facilitated through ultrasonic sensors detecting obstacles in real time, which make the car stop or swerve to prevent accidents. By using low-cost components, the prototype provides an affordability benefit compared to conventional assistive devices such as joystick-controlled wheelchairs. This research adds a practical and accessible solution that enhances autonomy and inclusivity and opens the gateway for future assistive robotics innovations.
