Sustainable Plan of the Orange Value in Palmas Ipoki Using SAFA (FAO) and Lean Tools
摘要
Agribusiness in Peru is expanding rapidly, with oranges being a key product of interest. Despite Peru ranking 20th in global orange production and increasing post-COVID-19 citrus consumption, small and medium farmers struggle with low profits due to oversupply, competition, and rising costs. This study focuses on Palmas Ipoki’s citrus farmers, proposing a holistic plan for sustainable orange industrialization. Using a value chain approach, SAFA (FAO) assessment, and lean manufacturing, farmers can reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve quality. The integration of sustainable techniques will help create a competitive advantage, ensuring access to better markets. Expected outcomes include lower costs, market integration, and better socioeconomic conditions for farmers. A measurable goal is a 5% increase in quality-of-life indicators based on net income. This research presents a scalable model for sustainable agribusiness. It can support rural economies and farming communities
