Human–Computer Interaction in the Age of Intelligent Systems
摘要
Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) has transformed beyond the command line optimisation to the design of a smart, adaptable systems that conceptually transform the relationship of humankind and technology. In this chapter, the author discusses how HCI is changing in the age of artificial intelligence and highlights some of the new paradigms of HCI such as immersive realities, conversational interfaces, and brain-computer interfaces. We examine how AI technologies (including natural language processing, computer vision, machine learning) are kind of brought on board to build customised, context-based user experience. The most pressing issues such as privacy, bias in the algorithms, and accessibility are also discussed along with principles of design to include and use systems of interaction in a sustainable way. Future directions are summarised at the end of the chapter with a focus on human and AI cooperation, explainable interfaces and responsible innovation models to enable technological development to be used in the best interest to serve the common good of humanity.
