Global orthopedic surgery mission trips play an important role in providing care to patients in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with limited resources. Providing high-quality care while controlling costs is the formula for success. The current chapter offers a framework for delivering orthopedic care and education to LMICs that emphasizes collaboration with local doctors to strengthen the capabilities and sustainability of local orthopedic surgical services. Focusing on cost-effectiveness enhances value.
