Osteogenesis Imperfecta: Weak Bones, Strong Children, and Value Care
摘要
Enhancing value in the management of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) presents significant challenges due to the variability in disease presentation, making it difficult to standardize cost-effective care. However, this chapter highlights multiple methods to provide value-based care when treating fractures in the OI population. Decisions regarding fracture prevention and management should be made through a team-based, interdisciplinary approach, incorporating both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments tailored to the individual patient.
