Cosmotechnics as a Methodological Framework for Plural and Sustainable Futures Design
摘要
This article critiques the instrumental paradigm dominating ethical AI debates, which views technology as a neutral tool. Drawing on Yuk Hui's cosmotechnics, it argues that AI is an organizing inorganic artifact enacting algorithmic governmentality, which synchronizes epistemes and accelerates planetary devastation. The study employs a structured critical comparative analysis to synthesize approaches like SSDM, Autonomous Design, and Cosmo-Political Design, leading to the Cosmotechnical Methodological Framework as the primary outcome. The analysis reveals that while some approaches show partial advances, all remain insufficient for fostering true technodiversity and disrupting technological synchronization. Consequently, the article presents a radical cosmotechnical design methodology. This new paradigm hybridizes decolonial, systemic, and participatory approaches to prioritize marginalized worldviews, integrate non-human agency, and co-create situated techniques. The aim is to politicize design practice, moving beyond problem-solving toward a methodology that facilitates pluriversal futures aligned with cosmic realities to achieve radical sustainability.
