Currently, public transport is emerging as one of the key solutions for the efficiency and sustainability of urban transport systems. Integrated transport, combining different modes and services and applying smart transit systems, offers a viable solution for comfortable, fast and environmentally friendly urban mobility and therefore represents an integral part of sustainable urban development. This is exactly the approach that the city of Klaipeda is embarking on. The purpose of the article is to analyze the public transport services in Klaipeda city and identify the problem and provide a solution for possible service improvements. The methods used in the article are the analysis of scientific literature, public opinion survey, PEST and SWOT analysis. Research results have shown that despite being the first Lithuanian city to introduce e-ticketing system and to implement multimodal travel options, the e-ticketing system itself is lagging behind modernization and the way public transport information is presented does not meet the needs of today's users. In order to address these issues, a proposal was made to develop an innovative multimodal travel planning app. After implementing this app, a profitability assessment was conducted. However, there is potential for more in-depth research in other aspects, taking into account modernization.
