The increasing prevalence of cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses has highlighted the demand for remote and continuous health monitoring systems. This paper describes an affordable and scalable IoT-based health monitoring system for the real-time measurement of essential physiological parameters. The system uses the AD8232 Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor and MAX30100 Peripheral Capillary Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) sensor in conjunction with a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. It uses Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol for data transmission to the IoT Ubidots platform. The measured parameters are presented in a graphically friendly view and are stored for future analysis. The system further comprises an automated alert system which alerts users when SpO2 becomes less than a threshold value of 90%. This wireless system makes early anomaly detection easier and also allows medical interventions to be made at the right time.

摘要
