Dementia is a neurodegenerative disorder that causes a decline in memory, thinking skills, and reasoning. It impacts areas of the brain responsible for these cognitive abilities, making individuals with dementia experience various day-to-day challenges. These include erratic mood swings, heightened anxiety, loneliness, and delusions. Dementia negatively interferes with a person’s ability to perform tasks, making them codependent on others. Existing treatments for dementia primarily focus on managing symptoms and slowing the progression of the disease. However, there is a lack of personalised solutions tailored to the individual’s needs. This research paper aims to study existing aids and innovations for people with dementia and develop a comprehensive design solution to facilitate memory recall and cognitive stimulation. During the design process, thorough research, user studies, ideation, concept development, prototyping, visual design, and usability testing were conducted. The proposed design solution utilises personalized AI-driven content curation, multimedia tools, and interactive features to enhance user engagement. This can improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their families. It can help to maintain cognitive function, reduce anxiety and depression, and promote a sense of well-being.
