This concluding chapter dives into reflections of the arguments made in this book and outlines some suggestions for future research. It identifies the central themes of the book, highlighting bot the challenges and opportunities for energy data governanceGovernance. To advance the concept of energy data, we argue that additional empirical research is needed to validate and deepen the understanding of energy data—in doing so, it suggests mixed methods approach that include ethnography, interviews, surveys, experiments, and big dataBig data analysis of policyPolicies documents. These multi-method approach allows individual and institutional level analysis as well as depth provided by qualitative work and the generalizability provided by quantitative analysis.
