In this chapter, we examine the management, storage, and associated challenges of energy data within contemporary digital infrastructuresInfrastructure. A central observation is that energy data, once collected, is seldom deleted; instead, it accumulates in vast repositories that require ongoing maintenance, redundancy, and computational processing. These practices are sustained not only by expanding data centerData centers capacity but also by increasingly sophisticated analytical models that depend on high-performance computingComputing. As a result, the most pressing challenge we identify is the environmental sustainabilitySustainability ofEnergy data storage energy data storageData storage.
