This short paper reports on the focus group about academic conferences, organized at EuroPLoP 2025. It lists the methodology for running the focus group, discusses the results and suggests next steps towards the pattern language for academic conferences. The main findings suggest that the community and financial aspects are the most important for conference organizers, followed by the program.
