ActEU Youth Democracy Labs and Toolbox
摘要
The ActEU Youth Democracy Labs (YDLs) aimed to foster debate and engage young citizens all across Europe in the ActEU research process. The 17 Labs conducted by the consortium involved over 300 school and university students and provided a platform to share their concerns, needs, and recommendations on trust, representation and participation in the multi-level structure of the European Union. The recommendations from the students highlighted the importance of inclusive and participatory approaches to strengthening democracy and underscored the need for policymakers and educational institutions to adhere to the needs and concerns of young Europeans. The recommendations informed the project’s work on a toolbox to enhance trust and participation in the European multi-level system. The toolbox consists of two toolkits, one directed at policymakers, the other one targeting the educational sector, including schools, higher education as well as general citizen education. The toolkits will contain policy briefs, educational resources, lesson plans for interactive engagement with ActEU’s core themes, educational cartoons, and more.
