Innovations in the Delivery of Optimized Care
摘要
America is an ever-evolving community. According to recent census data, the United States population has increased 7.4% to over 330,000,000 people (Portrait of American Healthcare [Internet]. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov . Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (US); 2023. Available from: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK600454/ ). Due to population aging and demographic shifts, comprehensive modifications in healthcare delivery are necessary. Working to innovate the delivery of optimized care means to make it more effective or perfect for each individual patient (Definition of OPTIMIZE [Internet]. Merriam-webster.com . 2019. Available from: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/optimize ). Looking into the drivers of healthcare innovation has shed a light on the inequalities plaguing American society, especially when considering race (Beverley et al. J Natl Med Assoc [Internet]. 114:578–583, 2022) These innovations should focus on scalability, sustainability, and personalization to meet the needs of our changing society. Previous healthcare innovations include the discovery of antibiotics and the creation of medical school education, health insurance programs, and electronic medical records. Recent innovations in the delivery of optimized care include artificial intelligence, wearable technology, and telemedicine. The future of healthcare is progressive, especially with resources being directed towards technological advancements. In the end, the United States healthcare system necessitates a system overhaul. With the advancements in technology and the vast realization of the problems plaguing the system, adjustments addressing the various problems can improve job satisfaction, patient care, and cost.
