The Potential of Wind Energy in Iraq and Its Vicinity: A Short Review
摘要
The project is to examine wind energy as a renewable source for the efficient and sustainable generation of electricity, particularly in the context of environmental issues like global warming and fossil fuel depletion. The study emphasized the significance of wind speed analysis through statistical models, including the Waibel distribution, to estimate energy production and identify appropriate locations for turbines. The findings indicated that elevating the turbine height improves power generation efficiency, while the design and optimization of the blades substantially improve productivity. The study examined the application of geographic information systems (GIS) to identify optimal sites for wind farm construction and evaluated the potential for integrating wind energy with other sources, including solar energy and biomass, to enhance the sustainability of hybrid systems. Research has demonstrated the viability of employing small turbines for localized purposes, including illumination and water pumping, particularly in rural regions. The study emphasized the significance of strategic planning and investment in modern technology to enhance turbine efficiency and minimize operational costs, thereby reinforcing the position of wind energy as a viable environmental and economic answer to contemporary energy concerns.
