Development of Incremental Conductance-MPPT Technique Based on SIMATIC S7-1200 PLC for PV System
摘要
The research focuses on improving the performance of solar cells through maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers to address the challenges of changing weather conditions such as temperature and radiation intensity. These controllers are designed to continuously adjust the system operating point to maximize the energy output from solar cells under different conditions. The hardware implementation of the MPPT-based Incremental Conductance (INC) algorithm for Photovoltaic (PV) system is described in this paper. The system is managed by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Siemens S7-1200 type. Analysis is done on the PV, resistive load, and boost converter. First, simulation tests are given using Matlab/Simulink. In order to monitor and show findings during experimental verification, the PLC is managed by the TIA Portal application and specially developed SCADA displays. The practical operation of the system has proven the effectiveness of activating the INC algorithm function and providing energy extracted from the solar cell higher than the energy in the fixed duty cycle, noting that the system tracks the maximum energy extracted from the cell through the periodic change in the value of the duty cycle.
