When Reviews Reveal User Roles: AI-Powered Prosumer Classification
摘要
A characteristic feature of becoming a prosumer is the transformation from a passive consumer to an active customer and producer. While the topic of prosumers is widely discussed in the literature in the context of the energy sector, the prosumer is of great importance in an organizational context for all businesses. One of the reasons organizations do not address the identification of prosumers is the complexity of the process. Large language models (LLMs) can assist as a solution to this problem. Our research aims to utilize LLM (GPT-type) to identify and classify prosumers through product reviews from the Walmart store chain. We propose a framework using the GPT-4o model that the OpenAI API provides for binary classification of prosumers based on product reviews. The model achieved high precision when classifying prosumers - 100%, while achieving a low recall of 58.67%, and its accuracy was 79.33%. Further research is planned to extend the model to classify prosumers based on product reviews, indicating their specific role as promoter, influencer, tester, expert, or innovator in co-creating products and services.
