Designing a Generative AI Solution for Creating Summative Assessments in Higher Education

The integration of generative AI into summative assessments is both a trend and an added value to ease and scale up the evaluation of students in higher education. This paper discusses the implementation of a design-based research approach for the elicitation and the development of an innovative generative AI solution aiming at supporting educators to create personalized exams that respond to different educational objectives, disciplines, and competence levels.
