Modern trends in the development of the information society, the growing significance of digital technologies, and their integration into all areas of life create new challenges and opportunities for education. Distance learning, which was recently considered an additional form of knowledge acquisition, has now become an integral part of the educational process. Its relevance has especially increased in the context of global changes, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced educational institutions at all levels to rapidly adapt to new realities. One of the key tasks of distance learning is the effective management of student’s educational and cognitive activity. Because academic success depends not only on technical infrastructure but also on the organization of the learning process, which ensures motivation, active participation, control and correction of learning outcomes. This requires new management approaches based on the principles of adaptability, interactivity, and personalization. Managing educational and cognitive activity in the context of distance learning involves addressing important issues such as ensuring student’s cognitive engagement, developing their autonomy, creating effective feedback mechanisms, and supporting psychological well-being. Regarding all this, special attention should be given to the study of methods, tools, and strategies of management that contribute to achieving high learning outcomes in the remote format.
