Robotic Systems in Precision Drug Delivery and Surgical Automation

Robotics Technology has made a great change. With the help of robots, doctors’ work has become easy, fast and accurate, and is used in almost every medical field. This chapter discusses the use of a robotics system in precise drug delivery and automated surgery, which focuses on clinical applications and integrated innovations. The use of robots in COVID-19 has increased its importance significantly. The Robots were used in hospitals to monitor the patients from a distance and to deliver medicines to patients without human touch. The nano-robots do the exact delivery of medicine in the brain and cancer-related treatments. Even the Robotics Systems assist the surgeons in performing surgery more precisely, easily and accurately. It combines the drug delivery systems and surgical robots. Robots use real-time images and also integrate machine learning to give patients personalized treatments. Despite technological advances, there are some challenges, like ethical issues, high costs and government approval is necessary for this. The authors want to show some key progresses achieved in this area and what more can be achieved in the future with changing technology, based on the recent studies and technological trends. In the future, the robots can do even more appropriate treatments that will include minimal cuts in the body. These smart technologies will improve the patient outcomes, reduce recovery time and will make healthcare more efficient.
