Nowadays, in this digital age, sensitive student information and correspondence are kept online, making them vulnerable to security breaches. Because these breaches threaten individual privacy, it has become more difficult for colleges and businesses to confirm the legitimacy of academic degrees. Companies are required to examine the qualifications of applicants to avoid the possibility of employing candidates who are not qualified and who may potentially damage their reputation. To find a solution to this problem, this article suggests creating a system based on blockchain technology for the authentication of academic credentials. This system will enable the creation, verification, and revision of educational documents in a decentralized and tamper-proof manner. Although blockchain technology cannot correct faults that occur during certificate production, it guarantees that all credentials are validated in an exact manner. Only administrators can issue, validate, and modify certificates; other users will only be able to confirm their legitimacy. Secure modifications are made possible by the system’s use of blockchain technology, which guarantees safe storage and quick processing. This procedure eliminates any uncertainty regarding the certificate’s legitimacy. The proposed method could improve the recruitment of employees and the admissions process to universities, thereby eradicating the practice of certificate counterfeiting and reinstituting trust.
