The article analyzes microscopic models of traffic flow. It evaluates the application of the Gipps model and the Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) in simulating vehicle movement. The Gipps model was supplemented with accelerations calculated on the basis of the IDM. Combining the two models in this way allowed for better use of their advantages in traffic simulation. The actual operation of the intersection was observed experimentally, with vehicle movement parameters and driver reaction times being measured. The modeling was performed in the MATLAB environment, and the created model was calibrated using the experimental results. Three intersection throughput results were compared: those obtained experimentally, through classical mathematical modeling, and after modification of the model.

摘要
