The wide range of issues associated with the study of aquatic species dispersal from one marine or river basin to another are briefly formulated. It is noted that since the beginning of the eighteenth century, a sharp increase in the number of non-native animal and plant species introduced into recipient ecosystems has been observed. The geographical location of the seas considered in the monograph (Black Sea, Sea of Azov, Caspian Sea, Aral Sea, Sea of Marmara) and adjacent marine basins and land areas is presented. The topics that will be covered in the monograph are listed.
