Dance teaching innovation is the main content of physical education in colleges and universities, and dance teaching innovation is reflected in the integration of posture, movement, and essentials. Dance content involves many aspects such as skills and skills, so it needs to be integrated with the help of big data analysis methods. This paper is based on big data thinking to make a holistic judgment. Form an effective data set, and then provide innovative guidance for dance teaching. The results showed that the average scores of students in the following areas were as follows: innovative thinking (8.5), skill level (7.5), collaboration ability (8.0), rhythm mastery (8.0), and work performance (9.0). Moreover, the average scores of students’ dance skills, cooperation ability, rhythm mastery and work performance were 9.0 points, 8.0 points, 8.5 points and 9.5 points respectively, which showed a significant improvement. Therefore, big data ideas have a large application space in the process of dance teaching in colleges and universities, which can promote the development of their teaching in the direction of innovation.
