Using recycle aggregate (RA) from construction demolition wastes (CDW) can conserve natural aggregate resources, reduce the need for landfills and contribute to a sustainable built environment. This study provides a comprehensive overview of RA and recycle aggregate concrete (RAC) in terms of: properties of materials, construction application. In addition, methods to improve the mechanical properties of RAC are also mentioned, including: reducing the porosity of RA and improving properties without adjusting RA. Furthermore, some state-of-the-art RAC applications, the limitations and challenges of the RAC application are also considered. Finally, future research prospects and applications of RAC in Vietnam and around the world are discussed.
