Radionuclides of Historical Interest
摘要
Tl-201 is a low-energy potassium analogue. Before the introduction of Tc-99m-MIBI and Tc-99m-tetrafosmin, Tl-201 was used for myocardial perfusion scintigraphy. Like Tc-99-MIBI, it was also used for imaging tumours, especially parathyroid adenomas. The main use for Cr-51 was as the EDTA chelate for measuring GFR. It has historical interest for labelling erythrocytes and leucocytes for haematological applications. Ga-67, which binds to circulating transferrin following i.v. injection and circulates as a metal-protein complex, is a useful tracer for the investigation of fever of unknown origin but has been replaced by FDG PET/CT for this application. The complex diffuses across compromised vascular endothelium and binds to interstitial transferrin receptors.
