Over the past decades, there has been a flurry of pedagogical activity regarding teaching about genocides globally. Of course, the Holocaust took centre stage, and many reasons are offered as to why teaching about the Holocaust is so widespread in schools in many countries. Some argued that it was a watershed event because an educated populace perpetrated it in a Western nation, for others it was an event that created avid interest because of the abundance of resources and information available for teaching, while others maintained that there is a strong, active and vocal constituency that advocates for the teaching of that history in schools globally (Bachman, 2020).
