The Way Forward: Final Remarks
摘要
Some things have improved, albeit very slowly and not enough. Compared to the period leading up to Namibian independence in 1990, awareness in Germany of the genocide committed against the Overherero and Nama has increased. This is mainly due to Namibian politicians, activists and NGOs from the affected communities, who have constantly and patiently introduced the topic of genocide into public discourse. The late Paramount Chiefs Kuaima Riruako and Vekuiii Rukoro, the late Kaptein Dawid Fredericks and the indefatigable Ida Hoffmann should certainly be mentioned here.
