摘要
This chapter presents and analyses the types of governance in Mexico’s protected areas. The chapter also explores the governmental apparatus and its limitations to achieve the objectives of the country’s protected areas. The legislation and institutions that have authority over the country’s federal protected areas are analysed. In addition, the institutional capacity of the State to monitor and inspect protected areas through law enforcement within and around protected areas is analysed. This allows to understand the limitations and strengths of the State to face the challenges in Mexico’s protected areas.
