Interprofessional Education and Teamwork
摘要
Team-based patient care is ubiquitous in hospital-based medicine, especially in the operating room. Communication skills, emotional intelligence, and team skills are essential in providing quality patient care. The recognition that all contributions, by everyone involved, improve safety and quality is at the heart of interprofessional education and training. Resident training must longitudinally involve interprofessional curricular planning, teaching, and assessment in order to best prepare residents for effective leadership and modeling in modern healthcare. Interprofessional team-based simulation training, focused specifically toward communication and teamwork, which becomes part of standard work is the holy grail of any resident skills and education curriculum.
