An Overview of Cybersecurity Risks and Threats in Cloud Computing
摘要
Cloud computing provides many advantages, including cost savings, scalability on demand, and flexibility. However, it brings a series of cybersecurity challenges and threats, which may compromise the security and privacy of Cloud storage. In addition, cloud resources can be accessed unauthorizedly using weak passwords, internal attacks, and insecure security settings. Malware and viruses pose another potential threat. This is further amplified by distributing files from the cloud and device to device, as incidents of malware exposure grow. This can cause data loss, system downtime, or financial loss for companies and people. Furthermore, cloud servers are vulnerable to network cyberattacks, causing the service to be disrupted or leading to data loss. And with the increasing use of third-party vendors whose security practices are not public, these risks are even higher. Organizations must mitigate these risks through strong security measures such as encryption, access control, and regular auditing. Better yet, education and training for staff on cybersecurity good practices can prevent human errors and internal threats. To sum up, cloud computing has a lot of advantages; however, the security issues cannot be overlooked, and users should be aware of potential cybersecurity threats and risks to protect data and preserve cloud services.
