Usage-based Insurance is reshaping the auto insurance industry by using telematics and behavioral analytics to make premiums based on the real-time driving habits of drivers. This paper represents a novel day-level user-based insurance model concept, where drivers pay policy premiums based on their daily vehicle usage. The usage of the vehicles and driving can be traced by examining either the number of miles driven by the driver per day or daily activity, while paying a minimum premium amount per day for not driving the vehicle on a given day, provided it is safely garaged or parked with safety measures. This study helps the concept of incentivizing safe and efficient drivers, inspiring them to carpool, when possible, use public transportation to reduce carbon emissions, and promote fairness in the premium calculation. We have simulated the data so that comparison with the traditional models can be done, and we identified benefits and challenges. This research emphasizes the potential of flexibility, a data-driven UBI framework. It explains a technical framework for its implementation.

摘要
