Degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis is the most common indication for elective spinal decompression and fusion. There are multiple factors that are relevant for evaluation of patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis and selection of patients who may benefit from surgery, and for whom addition of fusion is beneficial. In this chapter, we discuss existing evidence to guide decision-making for patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis.
