This is by way of a short recap. As stated in the introduction, the book grew out of a kolleg—German word for conference—focusing on the theme of Gender in Transdisciplinary Humanities held at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria, on July 20–23, 2022. Funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Bonn, Germany, the conference was about the first of its type in the humanistic disciplines to be devoted solely to the subject of gender and sexualities. There are twelve chapters altogether in the book including the introduction and this short recap), all of which but two falling squarely within the broad scope of the humanities. The exceptions are Chaps. 9 and 10 , both of which are anthropological in orientation.
